Adventures in Design: I Love Paris Part 2

What a ball!
For the past several years, I have been honored to attend the American Friends of Versailles' Bal de Versailles. The event raises funds for the restoration of the buildings and grounds of Versailles and includes events at the palace and throughout Paris. Look at that golden sunset on the palace marble. The light here really is different!

Always in search of the best design products and inspiration for MAZE Home, I recently made a trip to Paris and have lots to share with you. Shopping, ball gowns, flea markets, lunch with one of my idols, more shopping and a picnic at the palace. Wow what a week!

I took over 1,000 photos, so get ready for some serious eye candy!

As I mentioned in an earlier post (I Love New York Part 1), I recently met with Joan Carl and her team at D. Porthault in New York. However, when I arrived, the window displays were so stunning I had to stop to admire and photograph them for several minutes before I could continue into the store!

The Fling's the A-MAZE-ing Thing!

Last weekend I was chatting with the charming Joan Carl, owner and vice-chairman of D. Porthault, and we both agreed -- their Fling is an A-MAZE-ing thing and it's flying off the shelf!

The fling is a cotton terry wrap with a velcro closure, available in an assortment of patterns (shown in Demoiselle on the left). Perfect for the bath, beach or boat, or just lounging and relaxing. Wear it to the pool as a coverup, then use it to dry off after a dip and then as a towel to lay on for sunbathing!

It's a great gift for the college-bound graduate headed to the dorm or sorority house.
