A-MAZE-ing Things: Goodnighties Sleepwear
Thank goodness for dear friends!
I have been a poor sleeper for many years since being diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 1994. Along with pain, insomnia, night sweats and migraine headaches, I would awake in the morning feeling like I had been to a slumber party - without all the fun!
I never, ever felt fully rested.
Well, my good friend gave me a pair of jammies to test and I thought, why not? I have nothing to lose.
To my great surprise I slept all the way through the very first night I wore them!! Needless to say I was thrilled to feel rested and to think this just might work!! I loved Goodnighties!
I was hoping this wasn't a placebo effect when I inadvertently conducted my own "control" experiment. One night I put on a cotton nightgown I had in the drawer and went to bed. The next day I noticed I was achy and really dragging. Then I realized I'd worn a non-Goodnighties gown! That was a year ago February and I've slept in Goodnighties exclusively ever since! In fact I have many sets so when I travel I won't run out (even though they wash really well!).
Better sleep and no pills (which I can't tolerate)! I am so happy I can't even tell you.
There's science behind the positive effects I experienced. The secret is their patented Ionx "smart fabric." It's loaded with negative ions - 20 times more than occur in nature.
Negative ions, you ask?
To keep it simple, you know how the air feels and how you feel when you're near a really big waterfall? That peaceful, dense-air feeling is the negative ions emanating from the churning water. A little slice of heaven. Somehow they saturate the Ionx fabric with that feeling. The negative ions stimulate blood flow in your muscles, helping you to relax and fall asleep more quickly.
In addition to relieving aches and pains, the fabric is moisture-wicking (which helps control body temperature), static-free and anti-microbial so it stays fresher, longer - requiring less frequent laundering. It's great for travel. The fabric is just heavy enough for comfort and modesty, yet light enough that you barely feel it's there. I love it.
I also love that both the fabric and the jammies are manufactured in the US. That's pretty rare these days! You know I love to support local businesses and fellow entrepreneurs so I'm thrilled that my dear friend, Sarah Baldwin of Highland Park, is spearheading the promotion of Goodnighties nationally. She believed in it so much she invested in the company! Go, Sarah, go!
I'm not the only one, though, that thinks these pjs are awesome. They're not just for fibro sufferers. They've been reviewed and endorsed by regular gals like me - young and old, ladies who've experienced recent surgeries or pregnancies/deliveries, those with mid-life night sweats, arthritis and the aches and pains that creep up on us as we age. The fabric is actually used on race horses and pro athletes to relieve their muscle and joint pain!
Karen Lee Richards, expert pain writer and co-founder of the National Fibromyalgia Association is a BIG believer:
"I am a highly skeptical person and very protective of the fibromyalgia community – especially when it comes to products that claim to be beneficial for people with fibromyalgia. It is rare that I recommend any kind of product. Goodnighties is one of those rare finds. They have made a significant difference in the quality of my sleep and helped reduce my pain level. I just wish I never had to take them off. Maybe one day they'll develop a line of clothing, too, and I won't have to."
Miraval (outside of Tuscon) carries them in their spa (but not online). Quite an endorsement!
This is the real thing . . . negative ions . . . whatever! It works for me and you should try them out too!!!
We carry them in the store and on our website in a pretty soft pink with chocolate brown trim. We have two styles: a sleeveless not-too-short-not-too-long nightgown and a pajama style with capri pants and a v-neck top with 3/4 sleeves. For the pajama style, you can order the pieces in different sizes for the perfect fit. That's what I wear.

MAZE Home is the only store in the Midwest that carries Goodnighties!
Finish off your sleepwear with a pair of super comfy, soft slippers from Patricia Green and you'll be all set for a "Goodnighties" of sleep ;) Together they make a perfect Mother's Day or any time gift!

Now THAT's A-MAZE-ing!
Happy snoozing!
Cindy

Goodnights....hello, I loved reading about the pajamas you carry and I'm so curious to know if you have heard that they work for those with sleep apnea (or the like). Thanks.
